Watch Ola Customer Hammers His EV Scooter After Being Slapped Rs 90,000 Service Charge; Internet Is Livid

A video went viral on social media that shows an irate Ola EV customer wielding blows at his electric scooter with a large hammer outside the company showroom. Per reports, the customer was allegedly issued a bill of Rs 90,000 for servicing that took one month.

In the viral video, the frustrated user is seen furiously hammering the vehicle into smithereens over the hefty bill, even as onlookers gather and make reels. The Bhavish Aggarwal-led EV company has been making all the wrong buzz over the course of the year for deficiency in their product and post-sales services.

Last month the CEO of Ola kicked up a row online with an ugly X/Twitter spat with stand-up comic Kunal Kamra, who shared a post showing a dumpyard of the company’s EV scooters. Aggarwal’s shenanigans brought more PR disaster for the company as users flocked in on the bird app, sharing several issues with their bikes and the company in question. The CCPA issued a show cause notice reacting to over 10,000 complaints over a period of one year. The company swiftly went into damage control mode, hiring EY India to douse the fire. The EV company tried to close all tickets by deleting the history without ever actually resolving, as alleged by social media users.

Meanwhile, as the backlog of services piles up amid staff crunch, Ola Electric is reportedly planning to lay off 100 people every week! Per layoff tracker, the company’s restructuring bid will impact over 12% of its total headcount of 4000 employees across the nation.

Meanwhile, here’s how the internet reacted to the viral video: “Consumer rights are a joke,” remarked one user. One netizen advised Ola’s boss to resolve the issues rather than engaging in “Twitterwar.”
